The Ups and the Downs

There are "Ups" and "Downs" to every college football season.  Today we sit just 67 days away from kickoff, and just one month from "Media Days" which truly get things kicked off.
So, I'm going to bring you some questions each week and answer them as I would, but we will always appreciate your interaction on the web site and Twitter @ESPNUpstate.
Today's question...  of the College Football teams "struggling" today, which teams are sure to turn around the quickest?

1:  Texas:  We hear all the time that Texas is back!!  If a four loss season based on a Sugar Bowl win is "Back", then so be it.  Texas isn't back in my opinion until the Longhorn's make an appearance in the College Football Playoffs.  Until then, EVERYTHING is a failure.  You have more money coming in than any other university than Texas A&M.  You might be best equipped to jump forward, but I have my doubts.

2:  Nebraska:  The Cornhusker's long ago lost their luster, magnified by their move to the Big 10.  However, it looks like Nebraska has found their Head Coach in Scott Frost, and their QB in returning Sophomore Adrian Martinez.  The Big Ten West is a mess, and don't be surprised if you see the Cornhuskers in this years Big Ten Title Game.  Northwestern was there last year!

3:  Arkansas:  I believe in Chad Morris.  He took over a total mess in a former Wisconsin Head Coach trying to implement Big 10 Football to the SEC.  As any smart man knows, that won't work.  A year after going 2-10, Arkansas is hot on the recruiting trail, and I believe the Razorback's could find themselves bowl eligible this season.  That would be a massive move forward for Arkansas Football.

4:  North Carolina:  Nobody cared about UNC football under Larry Fedora, but we will see with return of Mack Brown.  Just cheat like hell until you are caught, hasn't ever stopped the Tar Heels before.  On a more serious matter, the Tar Heels could have a big swing this season if they can knock off South Carolina in a neutral site game in Charlotte to open the season.

5:  Southern Cal:  How long can one of the most storied franchises in College Football history continue to mess things up?  Just fire Clay Helton, hire Urban Meyer, and watch your program go up in further flames!!

We are getting closer, bring it to me....  "Straight Up"!!
