Cole’s Record:

Overall: 108-22

Last Week: 16-2

Byrnes at Laurens: After a win in the first round over Nation Ford, the Byrnes Rebels look to advance once again as they travel to the region champs Laurens Raiders. Laurens is a big, physical team that likes to run downhill on you by creating lanes and using their size to their advantage. They also have a solid QB that has been very effecient this season, but does not pass the ball alot. The majority of their plays will be runs, as the Byrnes defense will have to be disciplined. I think Byrnes will eventually figure this offense out and Laurens will have to throw at some point. I am interested in seeing how Lawrence Scott bounces back this week after suffering a hand injury last week vs Nation Ford. Cold weather always limits the passing game a little, but I think its important for the Rebels to be effecient this week through the air as well. I like this one to be close for the majority of the game, but I like the Rebels to pull away late.

Cole's Pick: Byrnes 40, Laurens 28

Gaffney at Sumter: The Indians are faced with their toughest task in quite some time as they travel to face the undefeated Fighting Gamecocks in the 2nd round of the playoffs. I like Gaffney to get off the bus and start fast. I do not think Sumter has seen the speed and raw athletes that Gaffney has. I think Sumter will run with Gaffney blow for blow, but the team that gives up the turnover or two this Friday will be the team that falls short in my opinion. Gaffney has to take care of the football and if they do, I think they will win this game. I think this one could come down to who ever has the ball last. Undre Lindsey needs to be big this week for Gaffney as he has been as of late.

Cole's Pick: Gaffney 34, Sumter 28

Spring Valley at Dorman: All week I have been trying to convince myself that Spring Valley has a chance to win this game, but it just won't happen this Friday. Dorman is the more solid football team across the board from offense to defense to special teams. Spring Valley is 6-5 on the season and currently rides a two game winning streak coming into Roebuck. QB Hayden Lee has another big night for this Dorman offense and the Cavaliers dont look back.

Cole's Pick: Dorman 45, Spring Valley 20

Greer at Wren: The Hurricanes are 8-2 on the season under Jeff Tate with losses to Camden County & Daniel. This season, Wren has been able to explode on offense averaging 57.3 points per game. Greer has found some magic as of late but I do not know if this Greer defense has enough to slow down this powerful attack from the Wren Hurricanes. Greer has given up an average of 10.5 points per game in their last two victories, so they will have to lean heavy on this defense Friday night. If the Yellow Jackets can come put and play their best game of the season, I think they have a chance but I think at the end of the day the Wren offense will be too much.

Cole's Pick: Wren 49, Greer 28

Chesnee at Union: Chesnee has played much better on the tail end of the season knocking off Seneca last week 25-13 and the Eagles are also riding a two game winning streak. Union County sits at 9-3 on the season coming off of a 21-12 win over Fairfield-Central last week. I actually give Chesnee a shot in this game. I think Clay Lewis & the offense for Chesnee have been more consistent as of late, and I think they will need to be flawless this week to upset the Yellow Jackets. Chesnee had some turnover problems earlier in the season and will need to make sure they play a clean game Friday for a chance. Union County has won 9 straight and just like last season, are playing their best football late. I think this one stays close, but the Yellow Jackets prevail.

Cole's Pick: Union County 39, Chesnee 28

Broome at Camden: Camden sits at 10-1 on the season while the Broome Centurions sit at 6-5 record after knocking off Powdersville in the 1st round last Friday. Broome has been playing really good football late in the season, but I think this task is too tall for the Centurions. Camden has the goal of knocking off the Chapman Panthers down the road, and the Broome Centurions are their next victim. Broome fights hard, but falls short.

Cole's Pick: Camden 45, Broome 20

Newberry at Chapman: Yes, Newberry has a very good coach in Phil Strickland. I get it. Thats what I have been told all week, but Mark Hodge & the Chapman Panthers will have something to say about that this Friday. Newberry is 8-4 on the season and comes off of a 14-7 win over Chester last week which may be the best win of the season for the Newberry Bulldogs. However, I think it will be their last. I like Chapman to have some big plays to pull away in the second half. However, I think the Bulldogs fight and scratch and score late to make the score look closer than it is.

Cole's Pick: Chapman 42, Newberry 28

Woodruff at Pendleton: Pendleton is 8-3 on the season coming off of a 23-12 win over Southside. Woodruff found the offense last week as they routed Indian Land 49-7. I think this one will be a very close game where Woodruff edges it out, but Pendleton goes down swinging. I like the Wolverines to get their 10th win of the season.

Cole's Pick: Woodruff 38, Pendleton 34

Mauldin at Clover: The Mauldin Mavericks had a HUGE win last week on the road as they took down the reigning Upper State Champions in TL Hanna, but Clover is ready for this matchup. Clover had their offense clicking last week as they ended the season for Boiling Springs. Mauldin will have to play their best in all facets of the game if they want to upset two teams two weeks in a row. A tall task for Mauldin, but I think Clover is the better team here.

Cole's Pick: Clover 42, Mauldin 28

Belton-Honea Path at Greenville: The 9-2 Red Raiders look to stay hot as they host the 8-3 Bears of Belton-Honea Path. I really do like BHP to keep this game competitive for most of the contest, but I think Greg Porter makes adjustments at halftime to pull away late. This would be one of the better games this week. BHP took down York last week 42-27 and the Bears are looking to win their 3rd straight. I, however, do not think that happens.

Cole's Pick: Greenville 31, Belton-Honea Path 20
