The Byrnes Rebels are 4-0 on the season, but most importantly they have opened uo region play 1-0.

Byrnes & Spartanburg traded blows in the first quarter where each team gave up a field goal. Byrnes turned the ball over and made several crucial mistakes to allow Spartanburg to have life early on. In the second quarter, Lawerence Scott found Nana Burris in the back of the endzone for the first touchdown of the night as Byrnes took a 10-3 lead before the half.

At the halftime break, the Rebels led by 7 & everyone at Nixon Field knew the Rebels still needed to find that 2nd gear. They found it in the 2nd half.

Rahjai Harris came out in the 2nd half running with total command, finishing the firsr drive of the half with a 1 yard touchdown rush to give Byrnes a 17-3 lead. Less than a minute later, Seth Smith (Spartanburg) threw an interception to Buddy Mack who returned it for six points. At that point, Byrnes had taken a commanding 24-3 lead over the Vikings of Spartanburg. The Rebels offense wasnt finished. With six to play in the third qurter, Lawerence Scott found Kris Byrd on a 35 yard touchdown to give Byrnes a 31-3 lead.

Spartanburg had no answer for the offensive outburst from the Rebels and the fourth quarter remained much of the same way.

Rahjai Harris found the endzone one more time in the fourth with a 28 yard touchdown run to give Byrnes a 38-3 lead. Isaiah Gordon capped the game off with a 28 yard FG to extend the Rebels lead to 38.
