New Orleans Pelicans Dismiss Coach Alvin Gentry: Report
Amos Morale III
August 15, 2020 - 12:39 pm
The New Orleans Pelicans have fired head coach Alvin Gentry, according to a report from ESPN's Andrew Lopez and Adrian Wojnarowski.
Gentry spent the past five seasons as the Pelicans head coach and compiled a 175-225 record while guiding New Orleans to one playoff appearance. Gentry's team had an up and down season this year, which included a 13-game losing streak. New Orleans was able to play its way into playoff contention and earned an invite into the NBA's bubble to compete for the final playoff spot. The Pelicans, however, went 2-6 in their seeding games and were eliminated.
