York County Being Considered

South Carolina could possibly have a larger role with the Carolina Panthers in the near future.

The Panthers are considering York County for its new team headquarters and practice facility.

The Charlotte based NFL franchise is currently searching for an area large enough for its plans, which also includes the development of the surrounding commercial and residential areas.

While the Panthers have often referred to themselves as the team of both the Carolina states, the team has primarily operated in North Carolina, with a few exceptions.

One of those few exceptions has been hosting their annual training camp in Spartanburg, South Carolina. But recently, rumors have surfaced that the Panthers may no longer be hosting training camp in the upstate of South Carolina.

The rumors have been met with some disappointment by Panther fans living in the Palmetto state, but perhaps building facilities in York County could offset the disappointment.

Nothing has been confirmed yet by the Panther’s organization, but it is safe to assume South Carolinians would welcome the Panthers with open arms.
