Greg Olsen Out For Season
Panther's tight end placed on IR.
Carolina Panthers tight end, Greg Olsen, was officially placed on injured reserve Wednesday morning, effectively ending his season.
Olsen injured his foot during the Panthers season-opener, but returned after only resting 3 weeks. Despite the injury, he managed to rack up 27 catches for 291 yards and 4 touchdowns on the year. He re-injured his surgically repaired foot Sunday against Tampa Bay.
The 33 year old Panther team captain has enjoyed great success in his 12 year NFL career, and been mostly healthy until 2017. Injuries have now become a problem for the veteran tight end, his most recent one being a broken bone in the same foot that cost him most of the 2017 season.
Due to his age, retirement rumor have begun to swirl, but for now Olsen begins his rehabilitation, and his hopeful return the game of football.
